Training and Development Force

The CAS Training School is manage by Training and Development Force Commander and a Senior Grade VI officer is appointed as the Commandant of the school. It is composed of the Training School Headquarters and 10 training teams with an establishment of 26 officers and 120 instructors and supporting personnel. The Training School is mainly responsible for developing the training strategies and objectives of the Service, teaching members various specialized skills, giving advice to other government departments and non-government bodies on training as well as organising the recruit training programme for new recruits of the Service.

The Training School attaches great importance to quality management, economy of resources and effective training. It conducts regular quality reviews and listens to views collected from members of different ranks through the Service Training Board and the Service Consultative Committee to ensure that the training offered meets operational needs and can enhance the knowledge and skills of members of all ranks to uphold the CAS spirit of “Providing Emergency Relief, Serving the Community”.

Certificate in Auxiliary Forces Basic Training (Civil Defence)

The Recruit Training Certificate Programme organised by the CAS Training School has been accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (QF) at Level 3. The recognition of our training programme under QF reassure the high standard of professional training of the CAS Training School and ensures that members meet frontline operational needs.

Training School Headquarters

The Training School Headquarters consists of the administration section and the physical training section. The administration section manages the administration work of the school, including records handling, recruitment, training courses arrangements and the management of teaching materials and stores. The physical training section assists the Service in setting physical training objectives and conducts functional and fitness tests. Its fitness instructors offer technical support in physical training to various companies.

Training Teams

The Training School has 10 training teams which offer basic recruit training for new recruits, undertake teaching duties of the training courses and provide training for other government departments and non-government organisations from time to time. In times of heavy workload, the dedicated Operations & Training Officers of the CAS (Department) will fully assist the Training School in organising the teaching work so that members can receive excellent and effective training to strengthen the human resources and operational efficiency of the Service.
