Recruitment of Grade IV Officer (Year-round Recruitment) and Grade I member (Year-round Recruitment and On-site Recruitment)

Application is invited from eligible candidates for enrolment as Grade IV Officer and Grade I member of the Civil Aid Service (CAS).

Major Duties

The Civil Aid Service (CAS) is a government auxiliary emergency service established under the Civil Aid Service Ordinance. The primary duty of the CAS is to provide civil support services during emergencies. Members of the Service are trained to perform emergency duties during typhoons, flooding and landslips, search for and rescue people in distress in mountains; help evacuate or rescue victims trapped under collapsed buildings or buried in landslips; combat vegetation fires and conduct youth training.

Requirements for Enrolment

Grade IV Officer Grade I Member
  1. at least 18 years of age;
  2. a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
  3. able to speak fluent Cantonese, write and read Chinese and English, a bachelor’s degree or above;
  4. able to pass Medical Examination; and
  5. able to pass the Functional and Fitness Tests.
  1. at least 16 years of age, any applicant under 18 years of age should obtain from his/her parent or guardian a written consent;
  2. a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
  3. able to speak Cantonese, able to read and write Chinese, a Form 3 graduate or above;
  4. able to pass Medical Examination; and
  5. able to pass the Functional and Fitness Tests.

Allowances

Where any member attends training or performs duties, he/she shall be eligible to be paid the allowances in accordance with the Auxiliary Forces Pay and Allowances Ordinance, Cap 254.

Training

Grade I member should complete Certificate in Auxiliary Forces Basic Training (Civil Defence).
Grade IV Officer should complete CAS Officer Qualifying Course.
